The MIST 80 is a RTD temperature sensor built with a isolated and linearized transmitter hermetically sealed in a stainless steel adapter only 2 inches long, with a highly stable and accurate, 2-wire,  4 to 20mA output.

The MIST 80 can be supplied with either a white polypropylene or stainless steel protection housing and installation is just the connection of the two leads to the electronic system. This greatly reduces the installation costs. As well, the MIST 80 is more compact and can be installed on equipment where small size is important and access difficult. One further advantage of the MIST 80 is that the electronics are hermetically sealed and contained within the sensor. In applications where moisture is a problem with conventional field transmitter assemblies, MIST 80 offers a perfect solution.

MIST Series Saves Money

The MIST series can save you money in other ways, with its wide temperature range -200ºC to 600ºC (-328ºF to +1112ºF), the MIST can be used in many applications where thermocouples and RTD’s are presently used. Two construction are used, for low temperature applications -50ºC to +200ºC (-58ºF to + 392ºF) a tube construction is used, for higher temperature applications       -200ºC to +600ºC (-328ºF to +1112ºF), compacted MgO is used. The MIST uses a Pt100 RTD to measure temperature and with the integrated temperature transmitter producing a standard 2 wire, 4 to 20mA output signal you can use less expensive 2 leg copper wire, eliminating the need for more expensive 3 and 4 leg copper or thermocouple extension wire. Other advantages the MIST has over thermocouples is that it is much less susceptible to electrical interference and longer signal runs.

The MIST Series can be supplied Factory calibrated to 20 common temperature ranges these standard temperature ranges are suitable for most common RTD applications. As the MIST are fully programmable, they can be factory calibrated to your specific needs or with the optional MIST-Isoft calibration module and PC based software recalibration can be done in the field.
