The MIST 22 is a RTD sensor built with a transmitter hermetically sealed in a stainless steel adapter only 2 inches long, with a highly stable and accurate 4 -20mA output. The MIST 22 is a general purpose temperature sensor constructed with lead wire. This construction, is the most commonly used temperature sensor in numerous types of applications and is ideally suited to be used in where any standard RTD's is used. Two construction are used, for low temperature applications -50ºC to +200ºC (-58ºF to + 392ºF) a tube construction is used, for higher temperature applications -200ºC to +600ºC (-328ºF to +1112ºF), compacted MgO is used. Standard wire leads available are Teflon, Teflon with armor and Teflon with stainless steel overbraid. Armored leads provide superior mechanical protection. Fittings are optional and two basic types are available: fixed and adjustable compression. Fixed fittings are tig welded to the sheath. Adjustable fittings utilize a two piece tapperd ferrule construction and are one-time adjustable. Standard threads available are NPT.

Saves Money
As the MIST 22 does not require a separate transmitter housing, installation is just the connection of the two leads to the electronic system. This greatly reduces the intallation costs. The MIST 22 is more compact and can be installed on equipment where small size is important and access difficult. One further advantage of the MIST 22 is that the electronics are hermetically sealed and contained within the sensor. In applications where moisture is a problem with conventional field transmitter assemblies, MIST 22 offers a perfect solution.

The MIST series can save you money in other ways, with its wide temperature range -200ºC to +600ºC (-328ºF to +1112ºF), the MIST can be used in many applications where thermocouples and RTD’s are presently used. As the MIST uses a Pt100 RTD sensor to measure temperature, and an integrated temperature transmitter with a standard 2 wire, 4 to 20mA output signal you can use less expensive 2 leg copper wire, eliminating the need for more expensive 3 and 4 leg copper or thermocouple extension wire. Other advantages the MIST has over thermocouples is that it is much less susceptible to electrical interference and longer signal runs.

The MIST Series are supplied Factory calibrated to 20 common temperature ranges these standard temperature ranges are suitable for most common RTD applications. As the MIST are fully programmable, they can be factory calibrated to your specific needs or with the optional MIST-Isoft calibration module and PC based software recalibration can be done in the field.
